What It Means to Show Up Before the Gates Open

Most places ask for your support after they have already proven themselves. Waipono is asking earlier than that.When you get involved now, you are not a customer, and you are not a donor. You are part of the foundation. Your contribution, whether that is financial support, your time, your skills, or simply staying connected, helps lay the groundwork for everything this land is becoming.

Right now that means building community relationships and growing the team that will bring this vision to life. Every person in this circle before the gates open makes the opening more meaningful for everyone.

L.E.M.O. Gives

L.E.M.O. stands for Love Everyone More Often. L.E.M.O. Gives is a community-rooted initiative that gives back to Maui’s people and places through direct service, environmental stewardship, and programs that deepen connection to the land and culture.

It is part of the Waipono ecosystem and shares its values, but it operates with its own mission: to ensure that as Waipono grows, the surrounding community grows with it.Every contribution to L.E.M.O. Gives stays on Maui, supporting local families, cultural programs, and the natural environment that makes all of this possible.

Lend Your Hands, Your Knowledge, or Your Story

Waipono is being built by people who care deeply about what happens to this land and to the people who belong to it. Right now, before the gates open, the most valuable thing anyone can offer is not money. It is presence, skill, and knowledge. We are looking for farmers and builders who know this land. Educators and cultural practitioners who can help shape how Waipono teaches and shares. Community members with stories to tell and roots to bring. And people willing to simply show up and help with whatever needs doing.
